Brisbane City Council has made a formal offer to purchase an inner-city glass factory ahead of plans to transform the site into a broadcast centre for the 2032 Olympics.
The Visy Glass property in West End was marked in official Olympics pitch documents as the planned location of a 57,000-square-metre international broadcast centre for the world's media during the Games.
Earlier this year, Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner confirmed to the ABC the council was in talks with Visy to buy the seven-hectare site.
