Mother Nature is forecast to rain on Ekka’s parade, with up to 100mm of rain predicted for parts of Queensland’s southeast as the annual agricultural show gets into full swing.
Widespread cloudy skies and showers are a “distinct possibility” from Sunday into early next week, the Bureau of Meteorology says.
That would oust the typical August “Ekka winds” which usually hit the Royal Queensland Show, which is fondly known as the Ekka after its original name the Brisbane Exhibition.
