Rising construction costs hit Brisbane City Council community sports projects

A planned Brisbane northside sports park upgrade has been significantly scaled down due to rising construction costs, with a dog park and BMX track among the features to be excluded from the initial contract.
The Nudgee Recreation Reserve upgrade covers 13 hectares of land in the northern suburb and was slated to have extensive upgrades including a new clubhouse, sporting fields, playground, dog park, BMX track and running tracks.

Work was expected to begin this year with the council going out to tender for the project.
